The recent discovery, in the valley of Le Touques, at the confluence of the river Chaussey, of a village that dates back to 300 BC, shows that man has lived in this area of France for a long time.
Earthworks built by the vikings can be found on the outskirts of Chaussey together with traces of fortifications, known as mottes. Not far from there, a thousand year old ivy tree guards the way to the original church at Fierville, built in the earliest roman period, but destroyed in 1892.
The building of the existing church, on the site of the original community at Fierville, started in the second half of the 16th century. The church contains a high-altar from the 17th century, one of the most beautiful pieces of sculpture that you could imagine.
Today, our community, is tucked away in the woods and pastures, so quiet and peaceful, far removed from the hustle and bustle of normal townlife. The local residents scattered around so thinly, the beautiful landscapes of the Touques and Chaussey valleys and the protected heritage constitute the principal rich qualities of Fierville-Les-Parcs.
Also the river Touques, renowned for the quality of its waters, that go far beyond the area of the Pays d'Auge, attracts many anglers, particularly for the abundant supply of trout. With the many lakes around this pleasant area, anglers are able to exercise their passion of fishing all year round.
